MOUNT LAUREL – Police are searching for the motorist in an upscale electric
vehicle who reportedly hit a bicyclist and fled the scene.

Police were called to the 700 block of Centerton Road shortly after 10 p.m.
on Saturday, Sept. 1 for a report of a car hitting a man on bicycle.

The victim told police he was riding east on Centerton Road after leaving
the nearby Laurel Creek Country Club.

“He last remembers headlights behind him and then being struck by the
vehicle,” police said in a news release Friday. The victim was treated at a
local hospital.

Investigators said evidence at the crash scene indicates the car that struck
the bicyclist is a Tesla Model X, between the years of 2016 and 2018. The
SUV likely has damage on the passenger’s side front end, police said.

Anyone with information about the crash, the SUV or the suspected driver is
urged to call police at 856-234-1414 and speak with Detective Harty at ext.
1524 or Sgt. Werner, ext. 1565.
