All-electric Zotye E200 smart fortwo clone shows up on video
While China's Zotye has made a (bad) name for itself in Western press for
ripping off designs like its Porsche Macan (SR8), Lambo Urus Concept and
Audi Q3 clones, they also produce more original cars like the E200, a
The car was first introduced at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show, where we
learned that it's powered by a very small electric motor, producing 24 HP
and 82 Nm (60 lb-ft) of torque.
It also has a (very) limited top speed of 80 km/h (50 mph) and a driving
range of 120 km (74 miles), which actually isn't bad for city driving,
especially if you charge it every day.
Seeing the E200 on the street, parked between a Buick and a VW Bora, really
puts things into perspective. It's clearly small enough to rival the Smart
Fortwo and its interior has a little bit of a Tesla vibe to it. It's also
very comparable to the recently-launched Baojun E100, which has more power,
less torque, a higher top speed, yet less electric range.
