Nissan launches Leaf EV in four Latin markets

Besides launching the car, Nissan is also building charging infrastructure
in Latin American markets

Nissan Leaf EV launched in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Chile, says the
company in a release.

New Delhi: Japanese auto manufacturer Nissan has launched its fully electric
car Leaf in four major South American markets - Brazil, Argentina, Colombia
and Chile.

The Nissan Leaf has been a part of the automaker's Nissan Intelligent
Mobility, through which it aims to transform the driving experience of the
customers, says the company.

Nissan claimed that with this zero-emission vehicle, the automaker will be
able to achieve a leading spot in offering sustainable mobility solutions to
the Latin American customers.

Speaking about the launch of the Nissan Leaf EV in four South American
markets, Guy Rodriguez, Chairman of Nissan Latin America, said, "The
development and accelerated growth of cities in Latin America requires safe,
smart and sustainable mobility solutions, which is why we are very proud to
celebrate a milestone for the region: the arrival of Nissan Lead."

He also said that Nissan Leaf EV is the maximum representative of the
company's Nissan Intelligent Mobility brand vision. Rodriguez further added,
"In this way, we continue to fulfil our commitment as a brand to contribute
to a future with zero emissions, which will positively change the lives of
our customers."

Besides launching the car, Nissan is also building charging infrastructure
in Latin American markets. The automaker has said in the release that it
will set up 48 recharge centres throughout the region by the end of August

Nissan Leaf is one of the leading zero-emission all-electric cars in the
world. The company claims, more than 400 thousand units of this EV has been
delivered around the world. The Japanese automaker announced that it will
launch the Nissan EV in India as well.

The electric vehicle gets power from a 40 kWh lithium-ion battery pack
clubbed with electric motors. The electric powertrain churns out 149 PS of
power and 320 Nm of torque and it offers 270 km range on a single charge,
says the automaker in the release.

Besides the electric powertrain, Nissan Leaf EV also has advanced
technologies including Intelligent Emergency Braking, Intelligent Around
View Monitor, Blind Spot Warning, Intelligent Trace Control, Intelligent
Cruise Control, Rear Cross-traffic Alert, Intelligent Lane Intervention,
Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Driver Alertness, Intelligent Auto
headlights etc.
