Paging John Wayland..............Plazma Boy....................................

MrGoFast99
John, I know you had vibrations in your car, did you find the problem?
Because Dennis is having vibs also and it would be difficult to describe to him
the proper alignment in words.
I'll try to dig out some of my old text books, they are stored away
somewhere after years of teaching.
What most people don't know is that when you use a drive shaft with two
"u-joints" to couple a motor to a rear end, the alignment is MORE critical  than
if you couple directly.

The old teacher
Jim Ludiker..................still the quickest behind  Dennis.

Jim/Dennis,
Are you guys going right from a slip yoke on the motor drive shaft to the U- Joint on the rear-end?  Or do you have an intermediate carrier bearing in the driveline?

First, check to see that the yokes on either end of the driveshaft
are at the identical rotation angle. If not, you are guaranteed to
have vibration.

There _must_ be a spline slip joint on one end or the other.

The motor shaft and the pinion shaft _must_ be parallel when
you are driving the car. They don't have to be coaxial, but they
_must_ be parallel within a couple of degrees. This is both
up-and-down as well as side-to-side.

You can go to CV joints and they don't care at all about
alignment. No need for spline either.

Here is a good troubleshooting page:
